Two girls were killed and around a dozen children injured when the school van carrying them turned turtle after hitting a Bolero in Etawa town of Kota district, Saturday morning.
The van of a private school was carrying children to attend the classes when one of its tyres burst, causing the accident, the police said.

Both vehicles turned turtle after the collision, and the rescuers and onlookers had to break the window panes to extricate the children from the van. The injured were escorted to the local government hospital.

Two students, a class-10 student, Tanu, and a class-4 student, Parul, succumbed to injuries at the hospital, while seven children were referred to the Medical College Hospital in Kota. About half a dozen other injured were treated at the Etawah hospital, the police sources said.
Education Minister Madan Dilawar visited the hospital in Kota to inquire about the health of the injured. Dilawar directed the hospital authorities to provide the children with the best medical care.
