The Election Commission has reviewed the inter-state border preparedness to ensure peaceful and inducement-free polls in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, a press note said on Thursday.
In a bid to prevent the movement of unauthorized cash, liquor, and other illicit materials, the poll panel has directed strict vigil on inter-state borders.

The several measures ECI has taken to ensure the integrity of the electoral process, include deployed 121 General Observers and 18 Police Observers for the first phase and 122 General Observers with 20 Police Observers for the second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections.
The ECI has also directed strict vigil on inter-state borders to prevent the movement of unauthorized cash, liquor, and other illicit materials. Flying squads and static surveillance teams have been deployed to monitor the movement of goods and vehicles.
The Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in two phases on November 6 and 11 while the counting of votes is scheduled to take place on November 14.
The commission has also reviewed the preparedness of enforcement agencies and directed them to take strict action against any election malpractices.
The ECI’s efforts aim to ensure a level playing field for all political parties and candidates, and to uphold the integrity of the electoral process. With the deployment of central observers and strict vigil on inter-state borders, the ECI claims it is working to prevent election malpractices and ensure a peaceful and inducement-free poll.
