Aaron Taylor-Johnson faces career-shaking accusations ahead of ‘James Bond’ role

British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson is facing renewed attention over claims of misconduct on film set dating back to more than a decade. The controversy has now resurfaced just when whispers about him potentially playing the next James Bond are making rounds. And obviously, this is raising questions about how the old allegations could affect his future opportunities.

The allegations trace back to the 2012 Oliver Stone film ‘Savages’. This starred Aaron Taylor-Johnson alongside Taylor Kitsch and Mexican actress Sandra Echeverria.

In a social media post from 2020 that has recently gained traction again, Echeverria recounted a disturbing incident on set. She claimed that during a scene where her character was bound and trapped in a van, Aaron and Kitsch deliberately revved the truck in a way that caused her to fall and get hurt.

“Me being tied feet and hands I could not hold myself up, and they only revved the truck stronger so that I would hurt myself more,” she wrote. “My dad saw everything from afar and was purple from anger. I went down all hurt. I decided not to say anything and hold on, but I hated them. Two proud celebrities were able to do that.” According to Echeverría, Aaron later apologized at the film’s premiere.

The timing of the resurfaced post is raising eyebrows in Hollywood. Earlier this year, reports suggested that Aaron might succeed Daniel Craig as the next James Bond. Fans and insiders also speculate that he may be in line for other major superhero roles with James Gunn, director of ‘Superman: Legacy’, recently following him on Instagram.

Sources close to the actor told the media that while Aaron may have had a confident, sometimes brash attitude in his younger years, he has matured significantly.

“It’s no secret Aaron was a little cocky in his youth,” one such insider said. “But he has grown so much since then. It would be a tragedy if he lost out on big roles because of something that happened in his early 20s.”
