Although rumours had been circulating for a few days that filming was done, this is the first official word from the team.

Just last month, the team had released a short video filled with breathtaking visuals from the film, revealing that ‘Parasakthi’ would hit theatres on January 14, 2026 right in time for Pongal. The teaser had declared, “A stunning ride through history awaits!”

The film has been in the making for months with multiple shooting schedules spread across different locations. The first phase took place in Madurai, followed by a major schedule in Sri Lanka, and finally, the last leg in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu. Sources reveal that several crucial scenes were shot during the Pollachi schedule which began in mid-July, with Sivakarthikeyan joining the team a little later.

‘Parasakthi’ has already sparked immense curiosity among movie lovers. Set in the 1960s, during the Madras Presidency era, the film is said to explore themes of rebellion, leadership, and social justice. The story reportedly unfolds in and around Pachaiyappa’s College in Madras.

In the teaser, Sivakarthikeyan is walking through the college corridors rallying students and challenging authority. A notable visual shows a wall message that originally reads “Students: do not touch,” cleverly altered to “Do not touch students”.

Actor Ravi Mohan also appears in the teaser as a man determined to eliminate Sivakarthikeyan’s character. The film also stars Atharvaa and Sreeleela in key roles.

‘Parasakthi’ marks Sivakarthikeyan’s 25th film, making it a special milestone in his career. The film’s technical team includes cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, music composer GV Prakash, and stunt director Supreme Sundar.
