The singer shared the news on Instagram with a teaser video that runs for one minute and 39 seconds. In her caption, Taylor reflected on the emotional journey that led to this moment.
“It was the end of an era, and we knew it,” she wrote. “We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives. So, we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down and to film the final show in its entirety.”
She went on to explain that the first two episodes of the docuseries and the concert film will both be available on December 12 on Disney+.
As revealed on ‘Good Morning America’, the series will offer “an intimate look at Taylor’s life” during the Eras Tour. It will include appearances from friends, family members, and fellow artists, such as Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, and Florence Welch.
According to ‘Variety’, the six-part series is directed by Don Argott and co-directed by Sheena M. Joyce, produced by Object & Animal. Each episode will give viewers a closer look at Taylor’s creative world and the people who helped make the tour a global phenomenon.
The first two episodes will premiere on December 12, followed by two episodes per week over the next two weeks.
Meanwhile, the concert film “The Final Show” directed by Glenn Weiss and produced by Taylor Swift Productions in association with Silent House Productions will spotlight the spectacular closing performance at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver on December 8, 2023.
