Amid tense seat-sharing negotiations among NDA partners for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, Jan Suraaj Party National President Uday Singh has urged Union Minister Chirag Paswan to merge his party with Jan Suraaj in the interest of Bihar’s development.

Singh made the remarks after inducting Saurabh, spokesperson of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), and a leader from Aurangabad, into his party.

Speaking at the induction ceremony held in Patna on Sunday, Singh praised Chirag Paswan’s work and positioned the proposed merger as a strategic move for Bihar’s progress. He argued that a united front could better implement the Jan Suraaj Party’s vision for the socio-economic development of the state.

At the same time, he ruled out any alliance with the LJP (Ram Vilas) or other political parties, asserting that the Jan Suraaj Party represents a new political alternative in Bihar and will contest all 243 Assembly seats. The party has already released its first list of 51 candidates for the state polls.

“Chirag Paswan has been talking about Bihar’s development. His ideas reflect our vision to transform the state. I believe everyone who wants to see Bihar progress should unite on one platform. That is why I am urging him to merge his party with Jan Suraaj,” Singh said.

Chirag Paswan or any other LJP (Ram Vilas) leader is yet to respond to Singh’s proposal.

Meanwhile, Chirag Paswan’s uncle and RLJP president Pashupati Kumar Paras has indicated that his party will not join the opposition’s INDIA bloc in Bihar. Instead, he is exploring coordination with Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM and Chandrashekhar Azad’s Azad Samaj Party (ASPA).

Political circles had been abuzz with rumours that RJD supremo Lalu Prasad had offered Paras a merger with the RJD. The move reportedly irked the RLJP leader, who had earlier parted ways with Chirag Paswan to maintain an independent political identity.
