No link between DGEME Lt Gen Sahni and Thailand assault video, says Army
The clarification came after several posts circulated online, falsely linking a viral video from Thailand to the senior Indian Army officer.
“Vidyut Rakshak is being widely employed in the Indian Army, particularly in remote and high-altitude areas, reinforcing the spirit of #AatmanirbharBharat,” the post read further.

In a major milestone scripted in the annals of Indian Army, ‘Vidyut Rakshak’, an integrated generator monitoring, protection and control system, developed by Major Rajprasad RS, was granted patent by the centre.
Announcing the news on X Friday, the ADGPI wrote, “#IndianArmy achieved yet another milestone with a Patent granted for the in-house innovation “Vidyut Rakshak”, developed by Major Rajprasad R S. In a video shared in the same post, the ADGPI brought forth the features of Vidyut Rakshak. “Modular, compact and light weight; real-time monitoring of electrical and mechanical parameters; prediction and prevention of electrical and mechanical faults; user-friendly GUI dashboard and automation of the present system of manual operation,” it said.
Notably, this isn’t the first achievement of Major Rajprasad, hailing from the Corps of Engineers. In June this year, he received the ‘NSG Counter IED Innovator Award’ for his two innovations, “Agniastra- Multi Target Portable Remote Detonation System” and “Shatrunash- Handheld EMP Gun.”
