Uttar Pradesh Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh has suffered a brain hemorrhage and is undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital in Lucknow.

However, there is a rumour that he suffered an attack due to political pressure. Appealing to ignore the rumours circulating on social media, he said, “In just four days, I will be back in the same political arena and will be at your service.”

Amidst questions about his health, Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh shared a post on social media, saying, “I humbly request my dear well-wishers, brothers and sisters, that I am not just healthy, but completely healthy. Please do not worry at all and do not pay attention to any rumours.”

He stated, “It’s true that I needed some treatment, especially in a peaceful environment. Therefore, the respected Deputy Chief Minister, Brajesh Pathak, is supervising my treatment. In just a couple of days, I will be back in the political arena and will be present at your service.”

Mr Singh wrote, “I will contribute my body, mind, and money to forming the party’s government in Bihar. You are all witnesses to the hardships that I have endured with courage, patience, and humility to reach this point. Your blessings have made this possible. These minor obstacles are not my diet, but breakfast for me.”

Dinesh Pratap Singh was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow on October 4th for treatment. Doctors conducted an MRI scan, which confirmed a brain hemorrhage. His one arm and leg have been affected due to the stroke. Family members alleged that his health deteriorated due to mental stress.

It is reported that Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh has been under political pressure for the past two months. First, former Congress MLC Deepak Singh leveled serious allegations against him. Subsequently, BJP MLA Aditi Singh also attacked him. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited Raebareli on September 10.

Minister Dinesh Singh was in the news during Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Rae Bareli. He, along with his supporters, staged a sit-in protest in Rahul Gandhi’s path, shouting “Rahul go back!” He also had an altercation with police officers. An angry Dinesh Pratap Singh wrote a letter to BJP state president Bhupendra Chaudhary, questioning the Uttar Pradesh Police’s working style.

Dinesh Pratap Singh began his political career with the Congress. He became a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) for the first time in 2010 and for the second time in 2016. He joined the BJP in 2018. In 2019, the BJP fielded him against Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, to whom he lost by 1.67 lakh votes.

Dinesh Pratap Singh again became an MLC from the BJP in 2022. He was appointed Minister of State for Horticulture and Food Processing in the Yogi government. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Dinesh contested against Rahul Gandhi from Raebareli. However, he lost the election by a margin of 390,000 votes.
