The proceedings of the Kerala Assembly were adjourned for the day on Monday, following sustained protests from the Opposition Congress-led UDF members over the disappearance of gold of the Dwarapalaka idols in Sabarimala temple.
The protests started at the very start of the Question Hour with the leader of Opposition VD Satheesan raising the issue,demanding the resignation of Devaswom minister VN Vasavan over the allegations of gold theft in Sabarimala temple.

When Speaker AN Shamseer continued the scheduled business,ignoring the protests ,the UDF MLAs trooped into the well of the House, holding banners and placards demanding devaswom minister Vasavan’s resignation.They placed the banners reading “Temple Thieves” over the Speaker ‘s chair.
As the Opposition continued their protests, the Speaker adjourned the proceedings of the day after wrapping up the proceedings quickly.
