TN’s fight is against Modi Government’s arrogance and injustice towards Tamils

“We are waging a relentless fight to prevent those who place religious fanaticism above all else from raising their ugly heads and obstructing the nation’s progress. The fight is against anti-democratic, fascist forces that oppress elected governments and undermine the will of the people,” Stalin said in a detailed rejoinder posted on X.

Countering Governor RN Ravi’s remark questioning whom the State was fighting against, Chief Minister and DMK president MK Stalin on Sunday reiterated that Tamil Nadu’s battle was directed against the “conspiratorial and arrogant” Union Government that was perpetuating injustice towards Tamils and the State.

Earlier, at a public event, Governor Ravi had questioned the Chief Minister’s oft-repeated slogan, “Tamil Nadu will fight and emerge victorious,” triggering yet another confrontation between the Raj Bhavan and the DMK government.

Listing a series of issues — from withholding SSA funds as a tool to impose Hindi, to NEET, and the suppression of the Keezhadi excavation report that established Tamil’s antiquity over Sanskrit — Stalin asserted that the ongoing struggle was also meant to protect the nation.

“The State is determined to resist the conspiracy aimed at pushing us back by a century through narratives based on superstition and mythology that seek to blunt scientific temper among students,” he said.

“Every time the Governor exceeds his constitutional remit and abuses his powers, the State has approached the courts and succeeded in safeguarding constitutional values and the rights of the State. We will continue our fight against those undermining the Constitution’s dignity and confront the fanatical forces seeking to divide the people and re-establish Manu Dharma with the blessings of the RSS,” Stalin charged.

“From saffronising the iconic Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar to burying the Keezhadi report and from delimitation to NEET — which has become a sacrificial altar — the fight will continue,” he concluded.
