In a tragic accident, three members of a family, including a 10-year-old child, lost their lives in a suspected hit-and-run case on Delhi’s Outer Ring Road near Mukundpur flyover late Sunday night, police said on Monday.
The victims, identified as Mohammad Shahid (60), his son Mohammad Faiz (25), and Faiz’s 10-year-old nephew, were on their way from Dwarka to their residence in North Delhi on a motorcycle when a speeding car rammed into their bike from behind, a senior officer said.

The officer added that all three were thrown onto the road after the collision and were reportedly run over by a second vehicle.

Family members and bystanders who witnessed the accident told police that two vehicles were racing with each other when the incident occurred.
“The motorcycle was hit by the first car, and after the victims fell, a second car ran over them,” a family member said.
Following the incident, both drivers sped away. Police are yet to locate the vehicles.
“The bike riders died on the spot. Their bodies have been shifted to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital, Jahangirpuri, for autopsy,” the officer said.
The police are investigating the case.
