The health condition of the 21-year-old girl, who was airlifted from Leh to AIIMS, New Delhi, for advanced medical treatment after she was critically wounded after suffering bullet injuries, was on Monday stated to be “stable”.

She was wounded in the police firing in Leh on 24 September and was flown to the AIIMS the next day for treatment.

She is currently admitted to the ICU of AIIMS Trauma Centre, New Delhi.

Dr Rinchen Chosdol, Medical Superintendent, SNM Hospital, Leh, informed that as per the attending doctors at the Trauma Centre, AIIMS, New Delhi, the girl is now on the third day post-operation and was extubated yesterday. She is maintaining adequate oxygen saturation on nasal prongs and is hemodynamically stable.

The Member Secretary of Ashoka Mission, a social worker from the Mission, and the patient’s mother are at AIIMS with her. All possible medical attention is being made available to her, said an official spokesman.
