Referring to such miscreants as Chand-Mund, CM Yogi said, “Just as Goddess Bhagwati crushed Chand-Mund, similar action will be taken against those who disturb society—a message that will set an example for generations.”
CM Yogi also announced a state holiday on October 7 to mark Maharishi Valmiki’s birth anniversary. He added that Ramayana recitations will be organized in every temple across the state with support from the Department of Culture and Tourism.
CM Yogi Adityanath said, “In Islam, they oppose idol worship, that is their philosophy. We are idol worshippers; we worship both the formless and the embodied Brahman. Those who try to create disorder during Sharadiya Navratri and Vijayadashami are acting like Chand-Mund, which Goddess Bhagwati will never tolerate. She only crushes such Chand and Mund. That is why Sanatan followers worship Goddess Durga to gain strength.”
He stressed that worship is a personal, internal matter, not something for street demonstrations. Therefore, the use of loudspeakers at religious places remains banned in Uttar Pradesh. “Disorder will never be accepted,” he declared.
He also said that today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India is giving the message of development to the world. But some people cannot tolerate peace.
He stated further that the double-engine government is working without discrimination to provide facilities, respect, and protection to all. “’Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ is our motto. Shravasti is getting an airport; tourists from across the world will come, and this will boost development. This is New India’s New Uttar Pradesh, which knows how to deal with miscreants and mafias,” he said.
