Aiming to boost Punjab’s industry and commerce to maintain the state’s high economic growth trajectory under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora on Thursday said that Infosys Ltd will invest around Rs 300 crore in Mohali to expand its business. This will generate employment opportunities for 2,500 persons and provide indirect employment opportunities to 210 persons.
Arora disclosed that Infosys Ltd has maintained its presence in Mohali since 2017, with approximately 900 employees currently working from this location. To broaden its business footprint and effectively leverage the local talent pool, the company is strategically expanding its operations in a phased manner, ensuring sustainable growth and deeper regional engagement.

He said that under the Phase 1 Plan, Infosys Ltd will expand its office space and other ancillary buildings, with a total built-up area of 300,000 square feet. The estimated completion timeline is three years from the date of obtaining all necessary approvals. This building will be environment friendly and certified LEED Platinum, the highest rating awarded under this system.

Similarly, he said that under the Phase 2 Plan, the firm will expand its office space and other ancillary buildings, with a total built-up area of 480,000 square feet. The estimated timeline for completion is five years, commencing after the successful completion of Phase 1 and upon receipt of all necessary regulatory and statutory approvals.
