Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva on Saturday accused the Aam Aadmi Party leaders of consistently trying to exploit unfortunate incidents for political gains.

Sachdeva said that the manner in which Arvind Kejriwal and his party leaders make petty statements on schools or hospitals receiving threats clearly reflects their immature and opportunistic politics.

The BJP leader’s response followed former Delhi CM Kejriwal’s statement on the hoax bomb threats to schools in Delhi.

Sachdeva said it is unfortunate that even after being CM for over ten years, Kejriwal has not yet understood that in 99 per cent of such hoax threats, criminals use foreign phone numbers or email addresses with the sole intention of spreading fear among the public.

He further said that while the Delhi Police mostly manages to catch those spreading such threats, AAP chief Kejriwal must explain what action has been taken against his party leader, Atishi.

The BJP leader mentioned that in one such case, the person who allegedly issued the threat was found to be associated with an NGO linked to former AAP Minister Atishi.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal hit out at the BJP government, alleging it had failed on Delhi’s security as schools are repeatedly receiving threats.

Over the past year, neither a single culprit has been caught nor any action taken, Kejriwal claimed.
