Ahead of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections, former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot on Monday interacted with students of Miranda House, Campus Law Centre, and Hindu College, seeking support for the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) in the upcoming campus polls.
Positioning NSUI as the only party committed to safeguarding the interests of students in Delhi University (DU), Pilot appealed to the youth to elect the four contesting candidates of the Congress-backed organisation with record vote margins.

He was joined by Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Devender Yadav to strengthen the party’s campaign for the elections scheduled to be held on September 18.
Pilot underscored the significance of the DUSU elections in shaping the country’s political atmosphere, alleging that the saffron party was creating tension and uncertainty nationwide.
“Both the Central and Delhi Governments are responsible for record unemployment, privatization of education, fee hikes, lack of new colleges, and limited seats,” he said.
Yadav echoed similar sentiments, stating that DUSU elections have produced prominent leaders who have played major roles in national politics.
He highlighted the growing anger among students over what he described as the destruction of the democratic fabric of the nation by conspiring to steal votes and clinging to power through collusion with government agencies and the Election Commission.
Consequently, he added, the student community has pledged to boycott ABVP candidates.
To canvas support for NSUI candidates in North Campus, NSUI presidential candidate Jocelyn Nandita Chaudhary was joined by former Delhi NSUI President Anil Bhardwaj, Rajasthan MLA Mukesh Bhakar, former DUSU President Raunaq Khatri, Mohit Chaudhary, and Lokendra Chaudhary on the campaign trail.
