Lodging a strong protest against the upcoming cricket match between India and Pakistan, the Aam Aadmi Party has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of bowing to external pressure. In the first face-off since the Pahalgam terror attack, India will challenge Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 match at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
In a post on X, AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal wrote, “Why does the Prime Minister feel the need to hold a cricket match with Pakistan. The entire nation is saying this match should not take place. Then why is it being organised? Is this also being done under Trump’s pressure? How much more will the Prime Minister bend before Trump?”

Supporting the party supremo, senior AAP leader and Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia also wrote, “Prime Minister, since when has the craze for cricket become bigger than the blood of our martyrs? When the sindoor of our sisters has been wiped away, what is the need to hold a match with Pakistan?”
Meanwhile, the party also held a protest demonstration at its headquarters, here today. Leading the protest, AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj said that AAP completely opposes the cricket match that is to be played tomorrow between India and Pakistan. “This is the same Pakistan that only a few days ago entered Kashmir, spilled the blood of dozens of our Indians, murdered them, and widowed our mothers and sisters. Yet today, the BJP government sitting at the Centre is preparing to play cricket with these very Pakistanis. This is an act of utter shame,” he said.
“Pakistani terrorists have shed the blood of our Indian citizens, and yet the BJP government at the Centre is going to play cricket with those very Pakistanis. This cannot be allowed. Blood and cricket cannot go hand in hand,” he added.
He also declared, “Any bar or club that broadcasts tomorrow’s India–Pakistan cricket match will also face a boycott by the Aam Aadmi Party.”
Bharadwaj also appealed to cricket fans and the Indian cricket team, urging them not to play cricket with the Pakistan team in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack.
