In a swift and coordinated humanitarian effort, troops of the Golden Katar Division successfully rescued 21 villagers, including women and children, of Dasuriya village in Barmer district of Rajasthan.
A defence spokesman communique stated here on Tuesday that the 2-day operation was launched on Sunday following an urgent request from Bhavar Lal Bamaniya, Sarpanch of Bakhasar. Responding with exemplary urgency and dedication, the Quick Reaction Team of one of the Infantry Battalions of Raptor Brigade reached the “rain-flood marred village and rescued 12 individuals, despite adverse weather and challenging conditions.

Subsequently, troops of an armoured regiment of the same brigade joined in the rescue mission and this endeavor resulted in the safe evacuation of nine more villagers, bringing the total number of lives saved to 21. The entire operation was carried out in coordination with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Rajasthan, the defence spokesman stated in the release.
This quick, prompt and timely response resulted in saving precious lives, exhibiting the resolution and grit of the Indian Army, he said.
