The East Khasi Hills Police in Meghalya have filed a 790-page chargesheet in the chilling murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, who was allegedly killed by three men in a conspiracy hatched by his wife Sonam Raghuvanshi, her lover Raj Kushwaha and during their honeymoon in Sohra.
The chargesheet against the five arrested accused, along with substantial material evidence and enclosures, has been filed in the court of the Judicial Magistrate 1st Class, Sohra Sub-division Court in Shillong, Meghalaya.

The chargesheet has revealed chilling details of the meticulously planned murder and the role of Sonam, Raj and other accused.
Who are all the accused and their role
Sonam Raghuvanshi is the accused number 1 in the police chargesheet. She hatched the conspiracy to kill her hsuband Raja. Her lover Raj Kushwaha was the co-conspirator.
As per the police, the murder was executed by Akash Singh Rajput, Vishal Singh Chouhan, and Anand Kurmi in the presence of Sonam at Arliang Riat Kunongrim, Umblai near Wei Sawdong.
The five accused have been charged under section 103 (1) (murder), section 238 (a) (concealing the evidence) and section 61 (2) (criminal conspiracy) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
Lokendra Tomar, Bhalla Ahirwar and Shilom James are three other accuaed named in the chargesheet. They are accused of distructing the evidence.
The chilling murder of Raja Raghuvanshi in May this year had shocked the entire nation. The case, which initially began as that of missing couple, took a sinister turn when Raja’s body was found in a gorge near Wei Sawdong Falls, a popular trekking destination near Cherrapunjee on June 2.
Sonam was untraceable for a couple of days but appeared in UP’s Ghazipur. She was subsequently arrested along with other accused.
Raja and Sonam had gotten married on May 11. Raja was not aware of Sonam’s relationship with Raj which led to his murder.
