The incident took place in the Tigaidattnagar village of Aliganj police station area.
The deceased individuals were identified as Ramveer, 35, and Surajpal, 50, both from the same village. They, along with another man named Bhagwandas, had been consuming alcohol since early morning.
Bhagwandas had brought the alcohol with him from Faridabad, Haryana, after returning home on Thursday night. He called his two friends to join him, and they continued drinking till the evening.
As the evening progressed, their condition deteriorated. Ramveer died late Friday night, and Surajpal passed away on Saturday morning during treatment. Bhagwandas remains in critical condition and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chowpula.
The police investigated the scene and found empty bottles of Haryana-marked alcohol at Bhagwandas’s house. They are still trying to determine the exact cause of death. Senior police officials, including the SP South and CO Amla, arrived at the location and have initiated further investigations.
Ramveer’s uncle, Mitrapal, claimed that the three men had actually consumed petrol instead of alcohol, as they had handed over the alcohol bottle they brought from Haryana to a local police officer. He alleged that the trio drank petrol, which led to their deaths.
However, another villager, Ganesh Datt, stated that both deceased men had been drinking alcohol and that their excessive drinking had caused their deaths.
According to him, they started drinking early in the morning, which eventually led to the fatal outcome.
The police have assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of death, and further updates will be provided once the inquiry is complete.
