Ganesh Chaturthi always brings surprises, and this year, it has brought a glimpse of Hollywood star Bradley Cooper saying “Ganpati Bappa Morya!” And the man behind this rare moment was none other than veteran actor Anupam Kher.

On the festive occasion, Kher took to social media to share a never-seen-before deleted scene from his 2012 film ‘Silver Linings Playbook’. The clip showed his character, Cliff Patel, teaching Cooper’s character, Patrizio, about Lord Ganesha.

Cliff narrates the story of the elephant-headed deity. He then goes on to explain why he is worshipped as the remover of obstacles.

By the end of the short scene, Bradley Cooper can be heard enthusiastically repeating, “Ganpati Bappa Morya!” And, Kher beams with pride.

Posting the video, Kher wrote, “When Bradley Cooper said Ganpati Bappa Morya! Presenting the deleted scene from #SilverLiningsPlaybook where I explain to #BradleyCooper the phenomenal story of Lord Ganesh! Jai Ganesh!”

Released in 2012, ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ is a romantic comedy-drama directed by David O. Russell and based on Matthew Quick’s novel. The film starred Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence in lead roles. Robert De Niro, Jacki Weaver, Chris Tucker, and Anupam Kher were in key supporting parts.

Cooper played Pat Solitano. The character is recovering from bipolar disorder, and tries to rebuild his life and reconcile with his estranged wife. Along the way, he meets Tiffany, played by Lawrence. Then their journey together unfolds with emotion, humor, and hope.

The film received critical acclaim. It also earned multiple Academy Award nominations, and won Jennifer Lawrence an Oscar for Best Actress.
