White Paper exposes Kerala’s Rs 5.07 lakh crore debt crisis
The White Paper on Kerala's Finances titled "Kerala's Fiscal Health: A Status Report" has officially revealed that the state's total public debt has escalated to Rs 5.07 lakh crore.

In a horrifying incident, six people, including three women and a 10-year-old girl, were killed after a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus rammed into an autorickshaw and mowed down people standing at the waiting shed in Kerala’s Kasargod district on Thursday.

Three people who were inside the auto and three others who were in the bus waiting shed were killed in the accident. Four members of the same family, three women and one man, died on the spot.

The deceased have been identified as autorickshaw driver Haider Ali (47), Avvamma of Farangipet, Khatuja (60) of Azzinadkka, Hasna, Nafeesa (52), and Ayesha (19). Khatuja and Nafeesa were sisters, while Avvamma was Nafeesa’s aunt. Hasna was Khatuja’s daughter, and Ayesha was Nafeesa’s daughter.
At least seven others sustained serious injuries, with one reported to be in critical condition. The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Mangalore.
The bodies were moved to Manjeshwar taluk hospital for postmortem. Manjeshwar police have filed a case.
