Only two contesting candidates for the Vice Presidential election are left in the fray after the last date of withdrawal of candidature on Monday which includes Sudershan Reddy and C P Radhakrishnan, the Office of the Returning Officer said.
The polling for the Vice-Presidential Election will take place on September 9 in the Parliament House. It will commence at 10.00 a.m. and close at 5.00 p.m. on that day. The counting of votes is scheduled to take place at 6.00 p.m. on the same day and the result will be declared immediately thereafter.

The Electoral College for election to the Office of the Vice-President of India consists of the Members of both Houses of Parliament. The nominated Members of Rajya Sabha are also eligible to be included in the Electoral College and, therefore, are entitled to participate in the election.
The polling arrangements in Parliament House are being made by P C Mody, the Returning Officer and Secretary-General, Rajya Sabha.
C P Radhakrishnan, a senior BJP politician and the current Governor of Maharashtra, is the NDA candidate while Sudarshan Reddy is the INDIA bloc candidate and a former Supreme Court judge.
