It is worth noting that during his US visit in September last year, the Gandhi scion had made a statement regarding the Sikh community. Nageshwar Mishra, a resident of Tilmapur, Varanasi, had filed a petition against this statement.
Tiwari said Mishra had filed a suit in the court of Judicial Magistrate (II), which was dismissed by the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (MP/MLA) after hearing. After this, Nageshwar Mishra filed a monitoring petition in the sessions court, which was accepted by the court on July 21.
