A man breached Parliament security on Friday morning by climbing a tree and scaling a wall near Rail Bhavan. He was caught at Garuda Gate and interrogated.

A man intruded Parliament House by climbing a tree and scaling the wall on Friday morning, in a significant security breach. Th incident occurred around 6:30 am.

As per the officials, the intruder reached the Garuda gate of the new Parliament building by scaling the wall from the Rail Bhavan side.

The intruder was apprehended by the security personnel and is being interrogated, as per the officials.

The incident comes a day after the monsoon session of the Parliament concluded with frequent interruptions that obstructed legislative business.

On preliminary enquiry, the person has been identified as Ram Kumar Bind, a native of Bhadohi, UP, as per CISF. He is working in a factory in Surat and appears to be mentally incoherent. Further enquiry is on, CISF added.

“Today, at around 5.50 am, one person was promptly apprehended by alert CISF and Delhi Police staff from near the boundary wall of parliament, while probably attempting to scale inside. He is identified as Rama (20) of Uttar Pradesh. He seems mentally incoherent. Further interrogation and verification are underway,” said Delhi Police.

A similar incident took place when a man in his early 20s scaled the Parliament wall and jumped inside the Annexe building premises.

Earlier on December 13, 2023, A major security breach occurred in the Indian Parliament where two intruders jumped from the public gallery and released a yellow-colored smoke canister into the Lok Sabha chamber.
