The wait is finally over for fans of the hit comedy ‘No Entry’, but not without a hint of nostalgia and regret. In a recent interview with Instant Bollywood, veteran producer Boney Kapoor reflected on one of the biggest challenges he faced while making ‘No Entry 2’; not being able to bring back the original star cast.
“We waited for almost 8 to 10 years, but somehow it didn’t happen. It’s our loss that we couldn’t retain the same star cast,” Boney said candidly. The first film, released in 2005, had become an instant hit, thanks to the dynamic trio of Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan, alongside Bipasha Basu, Esha Deol, Lara Dutta, and Celina Jaitly. “We will miss them. They were most loved,” he added.

Boney admitted that time was a major factor in the shift. “Time passed while we kept waiting, and today with a new setup, maybe things will be different. But I lost the opportunity. The train has moved on. Now there will always be this regret that the original setup isn’t there.”
He described Salman, Anil, and Fardeen not just as brilliant actors, but as fantastic human beings he cherished working with.
‘No Entry 2’ introduces a younger cast, giving the story a fresh vibe for a new generation of viewers. “We are trying to give a fresh start with a younger lot of actors. Somehow, we have moved on, and let’s hope the decision is right,” he said.
The original ‘No Entry’, directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Boney Kapoor, was a remake of the 2002 Tamil hit ‘Charlie Chaplin’. With a budget of ₹20 crore, the comedy struck gold at the box office. It raked in ₹74 crore worldwide and became the highest-grossing Indian film of 2005.
