An action plan has been finalized to address key issues faced by citizens in Gurugram. The plan focuses on cleanliness, road repairs, drainage, shelter for stray animals, trimming and proper disposal of trees around DHBVN power lines, and curbing open garbage burning.
The plan was drawn up based on feedback from citizen groups, RWAs, social organizations, and other institutions during the six-day stay of Chief Principal Secretary to the CM, Rajesh Khullar, in Gurugram.

Khullar on Monday held two sessions at the Haryana Institute of Public Administration (HIPA), Gurugram, one with Municipal Corporation councillors and the other with Class-I officers posted in the district. He discussed the proposed actions and timelines in detail, stating that the plan would first be implemented in Gurugram as a “Model of Governance” and, if successful, replicated across the state.
In the first session, Khullar, accompanied by Mayor Rajrani Malhotra, listened to the issues raised by councillors from different wards. He assured them that Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini is committed to resolving Gurugram’s problems and that visible results will follow soon. He also underlined the importance of councillors’ cooperation.
In his interaction with district officers, Khullar expressed concern over monsoon-related electricity accidents. He directed Police Commissioner Vikas Arora to ensure that in case of such incidents, FIRs must be registered against the concerned JE, SDO, and XEN. He further ordered that all leaves of Power Department staff be cancelled till November, and that officers personally inspect field conditions, check power lines, and ensure trimming and disposal of tree branches.
Taking note of reports about garbage being brought into Gurugram from outside, Khullar instructed Municipal Corporation and Police officials to seize such vehicles and register cases against the agencies involved. He also ordered strict action against open garbage burning, with SHOs directed to stay vigilant in their jurisdictions.
Khullar stressed that officers must work as a team, taking responsibility for their surroundings from home to office. They must take personal initiative in implementing the action plan, keeping citizens’ concerns at the forefront. He added that the visible impact of these measures should improve people’s daily lives, leading to public acknowledgment of the administration’s efforts.
