Sukhu asked the district administrations to remain on high alert and ensure that affected families receive immediate assistance, including temporary shelter, food supplies and medical care.
He further instructed officials to speed up the restoration of blocked roads to re-establish connectivity with cut-off villages and to intensify relief operations in vulnerable regions.
The chief minister said coordination between different departments must be strengthened to carry out rescue and rehabilitation work effectively.
Appealing to the public to remain cautious, Sukhu urged people not to venture near rivers and streams, which are flowing at dangerous levels due to continuous rainfall. He asked citizens to strictly follow the advisories issued by the district administrations to prevent loss of life and property.
The chief minister assured that the safety of every citizen remains the foremost priority of the government. The state administration stands firmly with the people during this difficult time and all possible steps are being taken to provide relief.
Meanwhile, reports from Mandi, Kullu and Kinnaur indicated instances of landslides damaging roads and houses, while several rural pockets remain cut off. Restoration teams have been deployed to clear debris and open highways and link roads.
The weather department has also issued warnings of continued rainfall in some parts of the state, keeping the authorities on alert.
The state government has appealed to the people to stay vigilant and cooperate with the administration as heavy monsoon showers continue to pose challenges across Himachal Pradesh.
