Speaking on the occasion, Marandi described Vajpayee as a “true son of Maa Bharati and a towering personality who continues to live in the hearts of Jharkhand’s people.” He said Vajpayee laid the foundation of a modern India through initiatives like the Golden Quadrilateral project, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and the Pokhran nuclear tests, which established India’s strength on the global stage.

Dr. Rai said Vajpayee not only fulfilled the long-pending dream of a separate Jharkhand state but also took revolutionary steps in building a strong and self-reliant India. Karmveer Singh remembered Vajpayee as an “Ajatshatru” (man without enemies), respected across political lines, who lived for the nation and elevated India’s cultural pride worldwide.
