To mark the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, the MPs’ Bike rally was flagged off by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta from Bharat Mandapam, here on Tuesday. The rally, which commenced from the venue, which aims to inspire citizens to hoist the Tricolour at their homes and display it with pride, was attended by Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Sanjay Seth, among other MPs.

Talking about the campaign, Gupta said that the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ has deeply instilled patriotism in the hearts of every citizen and child. “Thousands of programmes, including Tiranga Yatras and soldier participation, are uniting citizens across the country,” she added.

Taking a dig at the opposition, the Delhi Chief Minister said that such enthusiasm and widespread public participation had never been seen before 2014. “Those who carry the Constitution in their hands will neither be seen holding the Tricolour nor chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’,” she remarked. Describing the national flag as the soul of the nation, she called it a symbol of prosperity, unity, and progress, and the dream of every Indian to see it fly high at all times.

The Chief Minister concluded by highlighting the emotional unity in the country after historic decisions and operations. “With chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai,’ thousands of bikes carrying the Tricolour set out today as the skies echoed with patriotic slogans. From MPs to soldiers, our love for the country continues to grow with each passing year,” she said.

In his address, Shekhawat spoke about Tiranga and called it a unifying force that carries within itself stories of those who laid down their lives for the sake of the country. “There are many events that tie our diverse country together. Republic Day and Independence Day are two such festivals. Our Tirangaa also ties us together in a strong bond and gives us a sense of purpose,” he said.

“It reminds us of all those who have lived, died, and become immortal for our country. At a time when India is entering its Amrit Kal and moving towards a Viksit Bharat, Tirangaa yatra under the Har Ghar Tirangaa campaign is being organised every year for the last four years, to remind everyone of the love they have for India,” he added.

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari lambasted the INDIA bloc leaders for not being part of the rally. “We took out a bike Tirangaa yatra from Bharat Mandapam to India Gate. Many NDA leaders were part of this Tirangaa yatra. Our soldiers and our sisters took part in this and made it a success. We cannot see the INDIA bloc leaders, which is a little sad, given that it was a call given by the Ministry of Culture. Everyone should have come,” he said.

Earlier, in a post on X, the Ministry of Culture stated that the campaign will be carried out till August 15. “From August 2 to 15, hoist the Tricolour at your home. “This time, along with the tricolour, a resolve for cleanliness — The message of ‘Cleanliness is Service’ will be spread to every individual.”
