The police have detained the 17-year-old suspect and interrogating him to determine the motive behind the shooting.
At least three people were injured after a teenager opened fire at people in New York’s Times Square on Saturday.
The injured injured people include an 18 year-old female, a19-year old male, and a 65-year old male. They were taken to hospital where their condition is said to be stable.

According to a statement released by the New York Police Department (NYPD), the incident took place at 1.20 am (local time).
A verbal altercation broke out between the suspect and the one of the victims, following the earlier opened fire.
The police is also investigating whether the accused and the one of the victims knew each other.
