Reflecting on the festival’s evolution, festival Director Tanushree Hazarika said, “Ten years ago, BVFF began as a vision to place Northeast India firmly on the cinematic map of India. Today, it’s a celebration of stories, courage, and community. We invite filmmakers—emerging and established—to be part of this milestone edition, across categories like feature films, documentaries, and shorts.”

In the past editions, cinematic stalwarts such as Rajkumar Hirani, Imtiaz Ali, Vishal Bhardwaj, Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, Prakash Jha, Gauri Shinde, and Rajkummar Rao have graced the festival, sharing insights and engaging with aspiring talents.

The 10th edition will not only showcase films from across India and the world but will also include masterclasses, interactive sessions, cultural performances, networking evenings, and industry interactions designed to nurture the filmmaking ecosystem. The aim is to make BVFF not just a festival, but an experience that educates, entertains, and empowers.
