Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Monday undertook an aerial survey of flood-hit areas of Sawai Madhopur, Karauli and Dholpur districts, and assured all possible support and relief from the government to the affected families.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Monday undertook an aerial survey of flood-hit areas of Sawai Madhopur, Karauli and Dholpur districts, and assured all possible support and relief from the government to the affected families.

After taking off by helicopter from the state capital, he flew over Chakeri, Jarawata, Aznoti, Mainpuri, Dhanoli and Soorwal villages of Sawai Madhopur, and personally took stock of the situation in the water-ravaged areas. He also took a bird’s eye view over the damaged Bodal Uogadh Puliya in Khandar region of the district.

At Chak-Chainpura airstrip, he interacted with affected villagers who assembled there to brief the Chief Minister over the damage they suffered and present their memorandum for relief and compensation.

CM Sharma assured them his government was standing by them and all possible help and relief would be provided to them. The NDRF, the SDRF and the Civil Defence rescuers have still been engaged in doing the needful help in affected areas.

The CM also ordered a rapid survey of losses/damages the heavy rains/ flood rendered to public properties, private properties, to crops and cattle heads/livestock.

He has also directed the authorities to ensure adequate provision/distribution of food and drinking distribution, medical aid and the electricity supply.

Chief Minister Sharma later conducted aerial survey over villages Kased, Kemkach, Todi, Rahughat, Rancholi and Malhapura of Karauli district and Kathumara, Mahadpura, Buxpura, Cheelpura, Chadiyan-Ka-Pura Gadhi Jafar, Barai Ghiyaram, Andhiyari (Rajakheda) of Dholpur district.

Incessant heavy downpour and spate in rivers including the Chambal, the Banas and the Parvati have created flood like situation in Dholpur, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Kota and Baran districts last week.

Dholpur and Sawai Madhopur were the worst affected. In Dholpur the district authorities were even forced to call in the army for help in the rescue operations.
