One man lost his life and another sustained serious injuries in a car accident followed by a fire that broke out in the early hours of Sunday near Jhanda Chowk in Hulambi Khurd village, the Delhi Police said.

According to police, they were alerted about the incident through a PCR call at around 2 am, reporting that a car had caught fire.

Responding to the call, a police team reached the spot and found a white Ertiga taxi with two occupants.

One of the men was found dead in the driver’s seat, severely burnt, while the other was discovered injured in the passenger seat, a senior officer said.

The injured man was immediately rushed to SRHC Hospital in Narela for treatment, the officer added.

The deceased was later identified as Vipender and the injured as Jagbir, both 40 years old and residents of Panipat, Haryana.

Subsequently, a crime team along with forensic experts was called to the scene for inspection, documentation, and collection of evidence.

The body of the deceased was shifted to BJRM Hospital for autopsy.

Police have informed the families of both victims and are investigating the case to determine the exact cause of the fire, the officer said.
