Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday stated that the formation of a BJP government in Delhi after 27 years is not merely a political change but marks the beginning of a new era of policy and administrative reforms.

While addressing a press conference at the Delhi Secretariat, Gupta announced that the forthcoming Assembly session, scheduled from August 4 to 8, will mark a historic milestone, as the legislature will operate entirely as an E-Vidhan Sabha for the first time.

She further noted that the session will witness the introduction of the Education Reform Bill for extensive debate.

The Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Bill, 2025 aims to regulate fee hikes in private schools across the national capital and provide relief to a large number of students and their parents.

Gupta remarked that Delhi is no longer merely undergoing administrative reforms but is emerging as a model of technology-driven good governance.

“From addressing routine issues like potholes and waterlogging to implementing major policy decisions, we are accelerating change at every level. This is not just development but the establishment of a new work ethic,” she asserted.

The Chief Minister also highlighted that transforming the Assembly into a fully digital platform in such a short span is not only a technological achievement but a significant step toward administrative transparency and efficient governance.

She credited the Central government for its financial support and acknowledged the coordinated efforts of the state administration in making this transformation possible.

“Conducting legislative work through digital means will enhance both the pace and quality of policymaking,” Gupta said.

She also shared that a 500-kilowatt solar power plant has been installed within the Assembly complex, making it fully solar-powered. This move, she said, positions Delhi’s legislature as a model for sustainable energy solutions.

Gupta emphasized that her government is not confined to policy announcements but is committed to integrating technology with governance to ensure effective implementation.

Referring to the recently launched 24×7 Establishment Policy and amendments to the Shops and Establishments Act, she announced that women in Delhi can now work beyond 9 pm in a safe and secure environment.

“This initiative simultaneously boosts employment, accelerates economic growth, and promotes women’s empowerment,” she added.
