The BJP has become vocal over the insult of Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav’s wife and Lok Sabha MP Dimple Yadav.
Uttar Pradesh Women and Child Development Minister Baby Rani Maurya said on Monday that they do not accept insult to women, no matter which party they belong to. The BJP leader said this in a press conference at the BJP headquarters in Lucknow.

Maurya said that the BJP strongly condemns the statement made about Dimple Yadav. But the Samajwadi Party is not able to defend its woman leader in the greed of its vote bank, Maurya added.

Maurya, criticized Maulana Sajid Rashidi’s statement and also took Akhilesh Yadav to task. She said that Akhilesh’s silence on Maulana’s statement is surprising. “Does Akhilesh accept the insult of his wife in the greed of vote bank,” Maurya questioned.
The minister in the Uttar Pradesh government said that there is a difference between the ideology of the BJP and the ideology of the Samajwadi Party. If SP has to choose between vote bank and respect for women, it will choose vote bank, the minister added.
Maurya accused the Samajwadi Party as well as Congress and said that woman MP Priyanka Gandhi who gave the slogan “Ladki Hun Lad Sakti Hun,” is also silent.
On July 22, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and many other leaders, including Dimple Yadav, had a meeting in the mosque after which politics heated up. Now its picture is being shared extensively on social media.
Maulana Sajid Rashidi had reportedly made a misogynistic comment on Dimple Yadav, who was wearing a sari during the meeting in the mosque and was not covering her head. The Maulana also compared her to another woman, SP MP, Iqra Hasan, who was present there and had covered her head.
