He added that the state government and reserve administration want people of India to know how Corbett Tiger Reserve underwent transitions as to its nomenclature with the time through Jim Corbett’s Anniversary celebration.

It is notable that Corbett Tiger Reserve, also known as Corbett National Park is India’s oldest national park. It was the first tiger reserve in the country to be included in Project Tiger, an ambitious conservation program aimed at protecting tigers and their habitats. In the beginning it was established as Hailey National Park in 1936 but renamed as Corbett National Park in 1957 to honour renowned naturalist Jim Corbett.
