Elton John also posted a nostalgic photo of himself with Ozzy Osbourne.

Ozzy, often referred to as the “Prince of Darkness,” rose to fame as the frontman of the legendary heavy metal band Black Sabbath. His wild stage presence, powerful voice, and unique style made him one of the most recognized figures in rock music.

Despite his often outrageous image, those who knew him personally, like Elton, often spoke about his warmth and humor.

Just two weeks before his death, Ozzy took the stage one final time at a major music festival called ‘Back to the Beginning’, held in Birmingham, England, his hometown. The event was billed as Black Sabbath’s last performance and saw tributes from huge bands like Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, and more.

Fans were moved to see Ozzy perform again, unaware that it would be his final farewell.

In recent years, Ozzy faced many health challenges. Apart from Parkinson’s, he also suffered from spinal injuries due to a fall in 2018. In early 2023, he announced that he could no longer tour, saying,

“In all good conscience, I have now come to the realization that I’m not physically capable of doing my upcoming European/U.K. tour dates… The thought of disappointing my fans really F***S ME UP, more than you will ever know. Never would I have imagined that my touring days would have ended this way.”

Ozzy Osbourne leaves behind not only a legacy of unforgettable music but also a loyal fanbase and a group of friends and family who cherished him deeply.
