Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva hit out at the Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday, claiming that a new face of the party has emerged ever since it lost power here, adding that Joginder Singh Bunty, an AAP councilor from Swaroop Nagar ward, has been arrested over alleged gambling and for organising illegal betting.
Sachdeva has questioned former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and the party’s state unit chief Saurabh Bharadwaj, asking whether he would expel the party leader or dismiss this matter, calling it a BJP conspiracy.

The BJP leader said that Bunty, who was arrested with Rs 4.35 lakh in cash, is the same councillor who had allegedly brandished a revolver during the 2022 municipal poll campaign, and was caught on video.
He further stated, “AAP leaders have always claimed to be part of a party that practices a different kind of politics, but Delhiites began seeing the party’s real face with leaders like fake degree-holder Minister Jitendra Tomar and controversial ration-card Minister Sandeep Kumar. The latest addition to that list is Councillor Joginder Singh Bunty, arrested for running a gambling racket,” Sachdeva added.
Meanwhile, the AAP, reacting to this, has said that during the past decade, the BJP has allegedly created a situation where central government agencies and its police have filed false cases against the saffron party’s political adversaries.
The AAP said that it has become difficult to comment on the merits of allegations coming from any agency under the BJP’s control.
