Patanjali University students win gold medal at National Yogasana Championship
The university, known for promoting yoga, Ayurveda, and Indian knowledge traditions, continues to make steady progress in both academics and sports.

Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali University, Haridwar, hosted a grand event on July 15 to mark World Youth Skills Day.

The program, commenced with the tradition of lighting of a lamp, was graced by Prof. Mayank Kumar Agrawal, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Patanjali University; Brigadier (Retd.) T.C. Malhotra, Chief General Manager of Patanjali Trust; Prof. Ritvik Bisaria, Dean of Academics; and Lieutenant Dr. Shivkumar, NCC Officer.

During the inaugural session, speakers urged students to embrace skill-based education to face future challenges and actively contribute to nation-building.
In his address on the occasion, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Patanjali University described the current era as one of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and technological revolution.
He emphasized that along with technical proficiency, students should also develop practical, ethical, and social skills. He further highlighted that skills not only enhance employment opportunities but also strengthen self-reliance and leadership qualities.
On the occasion, Brigadier (Retd.) T.C. Malhotra elaborated on the Indian Army’s selection process. He explained that recruitment in the Army is not solely based on physical strength but also values mental stability, decision-making ability, leadership qualities, and moral integrity.
His motivational speech instilled a deeper sense of patriotism and discipline among the students. He also answered students’ queries with ease and inspiration.
Prof. Ritvik Bisaria, Dean of Academics, underlined the importance of communication, leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Through practical examples, he explained how these abilities are the key to success in any field. He encouraged students to pursue a value-based approach along with skill development.
To make the event more engaging, several activities were organized, including a Youth Skill Day rally, debate competition, quiz, poster exhibition, and a publicity display vehicle. Through these, students gained practical knowledge about the Indian Army’s working structure, training methods, and employment opportunities.
The event was attended by Dean of Student Welfare Narendra Saini, Dr. Vipin Dubey, Dr. Sanwar Singh, Dr. Ankur, and all faculty members of the university. The program was conducted effectively by Apeksha Chauhan and Senior Under Officer Dhruv Dev.
