More allegations of corruption have surfaced against the arrested office-bearers of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), including president A Jagan Mohan Rao, this time involving BRS leaders K Kavitha and KT Rama Rao.
In a letter to the state CID and the Enforcement Directorate, two office bearers of the Telangana Cricket Association accused the siblings (Kavitha and KTR) of running the show at HCA, with various contracts being granted to their relatives.

Interestingly, the TCA office bearers also demanded an enquiry against the board of HCA in 2019- 2022 when Mohammad Azharuddin who is in the Congress, was the president. The investigative agencies have been urged to probe into the utilisation of funds provided by BCCI to upgrade cricket infrastructure in the state.

In a fresh complaint to CID and ED, Y Laxmi Narayan, the president and Dharam Guruva Reddy, general secretary of TCA have alleged that since the formation of the state, BRS leaders like KT Rama Rao and Kavitha have been running the show at HCA. They wrote, “Smt K Kavitha MLC and Shri KT Rama Rao MLA have been influencing and running the show at HCA behind the scenes ever since the Telangana state was formed and the above-mentioned individuals were in a position of power as ministers, public representatives.”
The letter added that various relatives of KT Rama Rao and Kavitha were given contracts during IPL matches.
“The IPL ticket contracts were given to KTR’s brother-in-law Raj Pakala’s companies, eventsnow.com and meraevents.com, several vendorships like the food contract during IPL matches were given to Surabhi caterers, a relative of both Kavitha and KTR, and a close relative of Jagan Mohan Rao, the travel contract, hotel bookings were also managed by the same batch of people.”
Pointing out that HCA received almost Rs 500-600 crore from BCCI to develop cricket infrastructure, TCA office bearers sought a probe into the utilization of the funds, pointing out that there had not been any improvement in the cricket infrastructure in the past decade.
They also urged agencies to “investigate into the affairs of HCA for the years 2019-2022 when the office bearers of HCA were facing several allegations of corruption and financial irregularities by the then president, Md Azharuddin, John Manoj, R Vijayanand, Purushotham Agarwal and Surender Agarwal.”
Right after the HCA president and two more office-bearers were arrested by CID Mohammad Azharuddin, as the past president of HCA had demanded that the entire board be disbanded to weed out corruption from HCA.
