A sub-inspector of the Delhi Police met with a fatal road accident when he was hit by a vehicle while on highway patrolling duty at NH-9, it said on Friday.
The deceased, identified as Yashpal, posted at the Pandav Nagar police station, was declared brought dead by the attending doctors at Max Hospital in Vaishali, the officer said.

According to the officer, the incident occurred in the wee hours of Friday when the deceased was riding his motorcycle for Ghazipur to take an exit and U-turn.

The driver of the offending vehicle, Vishnu Yadav, 37, was arrested and handed over to the Kalyanpuri police station, and the vehicle involved in the accident, a taxi, was seized by the cops.
The officer added the body of the deceased was shifted to the mortuary of LBS Hospital for autopsy.
Subsequently, the family members of Yashpal were informed.
“Legal action will be taken against the accused in this case, and a complaint has been registered at the Kalyanpuri police station,” the officer mentioned.
The victim was a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad and has a son who is currently studying and preparing for a government job.
