He urged students to cultivate historical awareness, which he described as essential for developing national pride, a sense of duty, and cultural consciousness.
Citing examples from the Mahabharata, Chanakya Niti, and the eras of the Mauryas, Guptas, and Emperor Ashoka, Dr Ojha illustrated how Indian history serves as a wellspring of inspiration for social justice, cultural pride, and national unity.
He strongly advocated for studying history through an indigenous lens rather than a colonial one, so that future generations can genuinely connect with and appreciate their heritage.
Referring to the Industrial Revolution, he remarked that a nation’s real strength today lies in its economic stability, and called upon students to draw inspiration from India’s glorious past to help build a brighter future.
On this occasion, Acharya Balkrishna, Vice-Chancellor of Patanjali University, also addressed the newly inducted students.
He emphasized that Patanjali University embodies the living tradition of the Vedas, and urged students to pursue their education with dedication, focus, and mindfulness through yoga and meditation.
He said, “Our ancient scriptures – the Vedas and Upanishads – provide us with the strength to face modern challenges.”
Describing Patanjali University as a model of tradition and culture, he encouraged students to contribute to the preservation and advancement of India’s knowledge heritage.
The event was graced by Prof. Sadhvi Devpriya, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Oriental Studies; Dr. N.P. Singh, Executive Chairman of the Bharatiya Shiksha Board; Prof. Mayank Kumar Agrawal, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Patanjali University; Arsh Dev, Chief Disciplinary Officer; Swami Parmarthdev, Central In-Charge of Bharat Swabhiman Trust; along with university officials, faculty members, and a large gathering of students.
