In a historic green initiative, the Uttar Pradesh government is poised to set a new benchmark by planting 37 crore saplings in a single day, tomorrow, as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa ke Naam– 2.0’ campaign.
The Plantation Mega Drive–2025 will be formally launched by the Chief Minister from Ayodhya and Azamgarh.

Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call, the campaign symbolically honours mothers through mass tree plantation. To ensure its success, a record 52.43 crore saplings have been prepared across nurseries and designated sites statewide.

As per CM Yogi’s directives, all cabinet ministers will lead plantation drives in their respective districts. Designated nodal officers have already arrived in their assigned districts to review and finalize arrangements in coordination with Forest Department officials.
The CM will lead plantation drives in Ayodhya and Azamgarh. Forest Minister Arun Kumar Saxena will also participate in the event in these districts. During his visit, the CM will engage in public dialogue and distribute cheques to seven farmers under the carbon credit initiative.
Other ministers and officials have been deployed across all 75 districts to achieve the record.
