Jewellers in Lucknow observed one-day trade shutdown after PM Modi’s appeal
The Lucknow Mahanagar Sarafa Association has called the appeal "unfortunate" and stated that the gold traders had already been witnessing a decline.
On January 10, 2023, the price of gold in India for both 22 and 24 carat have significantly decreased. 10 grams of 24 carat gold priced at Rs 55.960 in India, while 10 grams of 22 carat gold cost Rs 51,300.
Over the past 24 hours, minor variations in gold prices have been seen in several major Indian cities.

As a result of international cues, gold is being traded with further price drop, in contrast to yesterday price, which was Rs 56,130 and Rs 51,450 respectively for 10 grams of 24 and 22 carat gold.
