Massive gas leak from ONGC well triggers panic in Andhra Pradesh’s Konaseema district
Following the leak, crude oil–mixed gas spread across the village like thick smog, severely reducing visibility and leaving villagers gripped by fear.
More than 30 female students fell ill in a suspected case of gas leak in the lab of Kasturba Gandhi College in West Maredpally in the Secunderabad area of Hydeabad on Friday.
As the students complained of breathlessness and dizziness, they were rushed to a hospital.
However, the college authorities denied any gas leak from the college lab. According to them, it was the foul smell from a garbage dump on the college boundary wall that led to students falling ill.
After the students complained of a gas leak from the lab, the college authorities surveyed the premises. They claimed that there was no gas leak.
The affected students were rushed to Geetha Nursing Home by the school staff with the help of locals.
Police officials visited the college and began an investigation.
