Sri Lanka skipper Dimuth Karunaratne on Wednesday won the toss and chose to bat against Bangladesh in the third and final one-day international (ODI) of the three-match ODI series at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Sri Lanka were 98 for 2 after 21 overs.

This match is a dead rubber as Sri Lanka have already achieved an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the series but the hosts must be looking to make a clean sweep.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has dedicated the 3rd ODI between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to fast bowler Nuwan Kulasekara who announced his retirement from international cricket recently.

Meanwhile, the SLC has invited Kulasekara to witness the 3rd ODI and have arranged a felicitation ceremony to honor the bowler for the services he has rendered for Sri Lanka Cricket.

The fast bowler, who made his Sri Lanka debut during an ODI game against England in the year 2003, played a key part in Sri Lanka’s T20 Men’s World Cup victory achieved during the year 2014.

Kulasekara played 184 ODIs for Sri Lanka and took 199 wickets. From 58 T20Is and 21 Tests, the right-arm bowler has 66 and 48 wickets against his name, respectively.
