Over 250 cartons of illicit liquor seized in UP

Over 250 cartons of illicit liquor worth Rs 20 lakh were seized during an inspection ahead of Holi in Shamli district, police said on Tuesday.

The seizure was made when a police team intercepted a tractor-trolley loaded with the liquor. But, the smugglers managed to flee the spot, Circle Officer Rajesh Kumar Tiwari said.

A case has been registered against the accused, he said.
