Capital city no longer an issue in Andhra Pradesh
Ten years after its bifurcation, Andhra Pradesh still does not have a capital. But what’s more surprising is that the lack of capital has even ceased to be an issue in this election.
Two women were killed and seven other persons sustained injuries when their auto-rickshaw collided with a school bus in Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna district on Thursday morning, an official said.
The children in the school bus escaped unhurt in the mishap, police said.
The auto-rickshaw, carrying 10 farm labourers, was heading towards Pullipaka village when the private bus coming from the opposite direction hit the three-wheeler near Salempalem village around 8 am, Koduru’s sub-inspector S Priyakumar said.

The two women, who were in the auto-rickshaw, died on the spot. They were identified as B Meeramma (50) and K Dhanalakshmi (40), both from the Salempalem village, he said.
The seven injured persons were taken to Avanigadda Government Hospital and later shifted to a hospital in Vijayawada for better treatment, the sub-inspector said.
The bus driver was arrested, he said, adding that a case was registered in connection with the mishap.
