JD(U) National Council meet on June 21, Nitish’s consultations with top leaders spark buzz
Ahead of the meeting, former chief minister Nitish Kumar has been holding a series of one-on-one meetings with his close associates and senior JD(U) leaders.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday spoke to Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and assured them all support to deal with floods in their states.
Modi, in a series of tweets, said that the central government has been closely monitoring the situation in Assam and all possible support is being provided.

He said the Centre has assured all support to the Bihar government to mitigate the flood situation which is being monitored closely.

National Disaster Response Force teams are in Bihar for rescue and relief work, he said.
The flood situation in Bihar worsened on Monday, with many rivers breaching their banks and embankments and affecting nearly two million people.
In Assam, over 11 lakh people have been affected by floods.
